From childhood, the practice of starting the day with daily chores followed by prayers, Pooja, and meditation has been ingrained in me. The backdrop of Bhajans and Classical Music has always accompanied these rituals. Recently, I experimented with two morning routines. The first, adhering to my childhood practices and abstaining from mobile use for the first hour, filled my day with positive energy. The second, involving checking emails and updates immediately upon waking, resulted in lower energy levels and a somewhat irritable nature throughout the day. I concluded that the initial hours set the tone for the entire day. So, I encourage you to adopt the first routine, steering clear of mobile screens and incorporating spiritual practices to kickstart your day positively. Additionally, playing Bhajans and Classical music on loudspeakers at a moderate volume contributes to a home environment brimming with positive energy, benefiting all family members.
2) Gratitude:
The concept of gratitude is widespread, often promoted by social media influencers and motivation coaches. However, I emphasize a simple expression of thanks to nature and the divine for a new day and the gift of life. This practice fosters humility and gradually leads to a shift in your core values. Personally, I express gratitude to my Guru in the morning for another day to live and, at night, for the wonderful day, treating it as if it were my last. This keeps me anchored in the present, preventing excessive focus on either the past or future. It’s like a daily reset button that keeps me grounded in the now.
3) Salt Power:
Using Epsom or Rock salt with Phenyl while mopping the house, or incorporating it into your evening bath, is a cherished practice in my home. These salts are believed to expel negative energy, allowing the infusion of positive vibes. Personally, bathing with these salts after a day of work helps cleanse not only the body physically but also purges unwanted thoughts and negative energy, providing a spiritual uplift.
4) Flowers:
Flowers, with their fresh and rejuvenating presence, can be a potent source of positivity. While buying flowers daily might be a bit extravagant, I’ve found a middle ground by adorning my desk and home corners with flowers specifically during the full moon day. It’s a simple yet effective way to align your personal and home energy with positivity.
5) Light it Up:
Deeya, earthen lamps, whatever you call them—light them up! This tradition is no joke. The tradition of lighting a Deeya holds immense significance. A few minutes of gazing at that flame can clear your mind and create a Zen atmosphere. In our home, we light Deeyas twice a day (Morning & Evening) in every room, ensuring a thought-free environment. As for the choice between ghee or oil, I say, go with what suits your budget.
